Participant Manual:

We would like to encourage all families to join the PTA by going to our website and signing up. Your dues help support PTA-funded programs for our students and teachers. Also, by becoming a member, you will have access to the directory on the PTA website.

Substitute Teachers NEEDED!!!!
With more teachers having to be out related to COVID, Mercer and our entire district is in serious need of substitute teachers. If you have a four year degree or know anyone that does, please consider getting your sub certification.  We don't want our schools to close due to lack of teachers. We really need you!!  Call Nanette at 232-7000 to learn more.
Virtual Academy Representative Needed
Forest Hills is asking for one VA representative per school. The VA Building Rep is responsible for improving/engaging communication between Mercer and our virtual families. The rep will serve as a communication bridge between Mercer and the VA families. The rep will send out reminder emails about any important events/programs/news happening in the school building (such as after school enrichment info, special things the PTA is doing/offering, info to make sure virtual students can still submit pictures for the yearbook, Spiritwear info...basically anything that keeps the VA students and families in the loop and connected). While this info might be accessible in emails sent by principals and PTA or social media, this additional communication bridge will make a big difference in helping VA students feel personally included and connected. Please contact Bridget Wright if you are interested in this role.

Room Parent Reimbursement

Room Parents, please submit all receipts and your reimbursement form for all class party expenses to PTA Treasurer, Jereme Kelley

We just wanted to thank everyone for the help with the  Virtual Book Fair!!!

Our total sales were $1,966.15.

So we raised $393.23 for the PTA!

COVID Fundraiser Update

We are so appreciative of all those who have made monetary contributions and/or donated their time! We have collected almost $11,000 to date and have spent $7,887 on the purchase of a 20 x 40 commercial tent, 15 8ft tables, 28 folding chairs, 2 table dollies and 1 dolly for chairs. Our students have been utilizing the tent and tables for mask free outdoor learning!! We have also spent $595 on 7 portable speakerphones for teachers to use in classrooms where students are working from home due to COVID quarantine and $120 on sets of sports balls for each grade to allow for more activities at recess, thus promoting additional social distancing as well as allowing for each grade to have a dedicated set.

We are keeping the fundraiser open for additional COVID-related needs, so if you haven't donated and would like to please go to the PTA website to contribute. We will continue to provide updates on the COVID-related needs as well as what is being purchased.

Mercer Golden Eagle Award

THANK YOU to all the administrators, teachers, janitors and cafeteria workers who have tried so very hard to help keep our kids safe, healthy, and happy this first semester. We know how tough it has been. This has been a hard and challenging year for everyone.

We hope you all will have a good holiday break and we will see you in the new year!

For those of you who have had a 6th grader,  you know this year is looking a little different. In years past, we have had several activities planned for each semester. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we have been unable to do most, if not all, of the activities this semester.  We have put together a sign-up genius for some of the activities for next semester - subject to change, of course.  The attached document provides an update based on what we know today. Please review and sign up to help if you are able. A lot of details are still up in the air, so please be patient with us!

If you have Mercer news you would like to share in Bits & Pieces, please contact Angela Tomson or Cathy RappaportClick here for B&P schedule.
