Picnic Tables Campaign

Your plastic trash is needed to create two picnic tables for Mercer's outdoor area!

How does it work? 9United transforms 1,000 pounds of select plastic bottle caps and lids into sturdy outdoor tables. Each student's donation of 200 items (about one pound) will help us reach the goal.

Donation buckets are in each grade's hallway. The grade with the most donations by weight will win a pizza party! We will check progress in mid April. Start saving and bringing in plastic caps and lids to your grade's donation bin. Visit 9united.org or this page to learn more.

Shopping Rewards

When you register Mercer's PTA with AmazonSmile, Kroger Rewards, and Box Tops, our group receives a donation from those retailers. It's free for you and raises funds for us. Ask your friends and family to support us with their shopping, too! For registration instructions, visit mercerpta.org/shoppingprograms.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Anderson Holds Fourth Mainstage Film Festival
An alien living among us. A teen struggling with guilt and grief. A man whose life will be changed by his next coffee order. These are the seeds for the short films that will make up Anderson Film’s 2022 Film Festival. This year each film will be directed and edited by their student writers, working with a team of student technicians and actors. The stories they tell are heartfelt and vivid, comic and tragic, and a remarkable look into the imaginations of our youth.

With original music written by a group of AHS musical students and performed LIVE by the AHS Symphony Orchestra, these films will showcase all the amazing skills of both the Anderson Film and Orchestra students. All of the films from 2020’s Film Festival were nominated for Student Emmy Awards by The Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and this year is lining up to be even better. Please mark your calendar for March 18th and 19th to witness the future of filmmaking, right in our hometown.

The Films are: Almost Human, Written & Directed by Will Clayton, Fraying, Written & Directed by Lily Biggs, and Clock-Watcher, Written & Directed by Andrew Kaeppner. Tickets are available using the
attached order form or by visiting www.Showtix4u.com and searching for Anderson. More info on our website: www.AndersonTheatre.com

Oliver! comes to Anderson High School!
Welcome to the Victorian London of Charles Dickens, where a young boy faces hunger, cruelty, and rough kindness as he travels the dark streets of London. Despite it all, Oliver never gives up his dream of a true home and a family to love. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning Oliver! is one of the few musicals to also win an Academy Award for Best Picture, and is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audience members alike. Exuberant songs like “Consider Yourself” and “You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two” mix with ballads like “Where is Love” and “As Long as He Needs Me” to make this production a musical treasure. You’ll consider yourself one of us when you experience this family-friendly production!!

Shows are April 28, 29, and 30 at 7:00 PM, and May 1 at 3:00 PM, in Titus Auditorium of Anderson High School. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online or by using the order form attached. Visit AndersonTheatre.com for more information and online sales!

2022 FH5K | We are Back In-Person!

After two years of hosting the FH5K virtually, the Forest Hills Foundation for Education is proud to host our 2022 FH5K on Saturday, May 14. It’s time for us all to come together and promote physical health, create awareness for mental health and have fun! May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we are excited to share mental health resources at the FH5K After-Party taking place at Nagel Middle School.  The Forest Hills Foundation serves as a member of the Anderson Mental Health Collaborative where several of these groups will be ready to share resources, tools and information with you and our families.

Will you help us reach our $100,000 goal? These funds will directly impact students as we continue to provide mental health support focused on these three areas, based on student feedback: resiliency, emotional regulation and social awareness.

Please join us as we “Take a Step to Stop the Stigma” and register for the FH5K today! Not a runner/walker? You can still donate, fundraise and/or volunteer.

Don’t miss out on the fun! Click here to register today, create a team, and check out the race details and after-party plans.
