Coin Wars for 9United's Shop & Share

Shop & Share is in its 15th year! Shop & Share is a district-wide, 9United project that offers an opportunity for your children to give their time, talent and treasure in a meaningful way to those in our schools and local community who need assistance during the holiday season. Since 2008, this project has fulfilled holiday needs and wishes for more than 11,000 Forest Hills students and families and those served by local organizations that support the Anderson and Village of Newtown communities, such as InterParish Ministry and Jack’s Closet (Clough Church). While the project may look different at each school, it is an incredible opportunity for every student and family to be involved in efforts to support those where we live, learn, work, and play!

How to participate

COIN WARS - Mon Nov 14 - Fri Nov 18. Mercer's grade-level competition theme is "Sorry! (Not Sorry!)". Students bring in coins or bills to donate to 9United's Shop & Share program. Pennies and bills go in a student's own grade bin to accumulate points (Not Sorry!), and silver coins go in other grade bins to subtract points (Sorry!). The grade that gets the most points gets a pancake breakfast. Sign up here to volunteer to collect, monitor and count/roll coins. Students can do chores or acts of kindness to collect coins. Rolled coins earn double points!

DONATE ONLINE - Thu Nov 10 - Fri Nov 18. 9United will use donations to fulfill student and family wish lists and short term needs for Forest Hills schools students and families all year. Visit here to make your tax-deductible donation.

SHOP FOR A WISH LIST - Thu Nov 10 - Fri Nov 18. Request a list here and shop on your own. This is a great way for High School students and families to get involved.

COMMUNITY SHOPPING - Wed Dec 7 4-7 p.m. Join 9United for a Community Shopping Night at Target on Beechmont Avenue to fulfill the needs and wishes of Forest Hills students and local organizations whose work supports the Anderson Township and Village of Newtown communities. It’s an amazing evening of fun, community and generosity - we hope you can join us! (Please note: Elementary and Nagel students must be accompanied by an adult.)
